FiiO DM15 CD Player with Dual AKM AK4493S DAC The FiiO DM15 brings the classic portable CD player firmly into the modern Hi-Fi era, combining high-quality CD playback with powerful headphone amplification, Bluetooth transmission, USB DAC functionality and digital outputs in a compact aluminium design. At the heart of the DM15 are dual AKM AK4493S DAC chips , using AKM's VELVET SOUND technology to deliver low distortion, wide dynamic range and a natural, detailed presentation. The audio section is partnered with dual SGM8262 amplifiers, with the 4.4mm balanced headphone output capable of delivering up to 1100mW + 1100mW into 32Ω in Desktop Mode . More Than a CD Player The DM15 is designed to work as an all-in-one digital audio hub. Alongside conventional CD playback, it can operate as a Hi-Fi USB DAC , supporting PCM playback up to 384kHz/32-bit and native DSD256 . It can also function as a USB or CD digital transport, with both coaxial and optical digital outputs allowing the DM15 to be connected to an external DAC or Hi-Fi system. aptX Lossless Bluetooth Transmission Built around Qualcomm's QCC3086 Bluetooth chipset , the DM15 can transmit audio wirelessly to compatible headphones, speakers and other Bluetooth devices. Powerful 3.5mm and 4.4mm Headphone Outputs The DM15 offers both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, making it suitable for everything from sensitive earphones to more demanding full-size headphones. In Desktop Mode, output power reaches up to 295mW + 295mW through the 3.5mm output and an impressive 1100mW + 1100mW through the balanced 4.4mm connection . Desktop Mode bypasses the internal battery when an external power supply is connected, reducing unnecessary battery charge cycles while allowing the DM15 to deliver its highest output power. 24 Sound Presets Listeners can personalise the sound using a combination of three BASS settings and eight built-in EQ presets , creating up to 24 different sound combinations . A dedicated RETRO preset is also included, designed to provide a richer, more classic analogue-style presentation. Rip CDs While You Listen The DM15 supports direct CD ripping to external USB storage , allowing compatible CDDA tracks to be saved in WAV format while the disc is playing. For CD ripping and firmware updates, FiiO recommends using a Type-C USB drive of 32GB or less formatted in FAT32 . Custom CD Mechanism FiiO has further refined its portable CD mechanism for the DM15, including a self-rebounding steel-ball disc alignment design. This helps make inserting and removing discs smoother while reducing the likelihood of scratching them. Electronic Shock Protection (ESP) can also be enabled to improve playback stability when listening on the move. Built for Portable and Desktop Listening A 4700mAh high-voltage lithium battery provides approximately 6 hours or more of CD playback , while USB DAC operation can reach approximately 9 hours . PD2.0 and PD3.0 fast charging are supported, with a quoted charging time of approximately two hours using PD3.0. For use at home, the included infrared remote control makes it easy to operate the DM15 from across the room. Retro Controls with a Modern Display The DM15 combines mechanical buttons, switches and a physical control knob with a 0.96-inch TFT display . The display provides clear access to information including playback mode, battery level, EQ settings, sample rate and Bluetooth connection status. Its aluminium alloy chassis is finished with a tempered-glass transparent lid and front panel , giving the DM15 a distinctive combination of retro inspiration and modern construction.
